Towanna Turnage is a creative entrepreneur, dynamic content creator, small business advocate, and founder of Mela X Social—a DMV-based platform connecting communities through curated events and networking. She also leads MelaXSocial.Shop an online marketplace spotlighting Small Black-owned businesses and driving real change through visibility, support, and community impact.

Building on this vision, MelaXSocial.Shop is the next evolution—an online marketplace elevating the small business experience. MelaXSocial.Shop spotlights entrepreneurs, small businesses, handmade products and curated events by Black-owned businesses, helping grow visibility, enhance revenue while  building a lasting impact. It’s more than a shop—it’s rooted in recognition, community and empowerment.

We decided to do business a different way, as small business owners we need more highlighting, more attention and attraction.

Smaller businesses are not represented enough with their brands and services, and most of the time smaller businesses get swallowed up by bigger brands.  We are disrupting and changing the status quo, by putting power back into our own hands!  Having entrepreneurs and small businesses come together, and showcase products and services  together.

With Mela X Social we are building a team, our goal is to directly support entrepreneurs and small businesses that provide amazing products and services to customers.
